When designing the StrawFast we considered design problems
of some of the current solutions:

Cellophane Tape


  • Stored chemical dissolves tape’s adhesiveness – tape falls off!
  • Tape is very easily flattened and difficult to re-insert straw
  • Tape can be easily ripped
  • Much more difficult to grab the straw for both insertion & removal
 

 

Rubberbands

 

  • Rubberbands break due to; deterioration from solvent contact, exposure to UV, rubberbands dry out over time
  • Much more difficult to grab the straw for both insertion & removal
